I am working on a site map and better organization of my site. I have edited my theme templates to remove the dates from my posts. The next thing is to update the existing posts and put them in the correct categories.

I messed up my site this week! I removed the dates from all my posts and the URL links since I'm trying to make the information more static. Then I did a google search for something related to my site and got a 404 error when I clicked the link.
I've been looking more closely at my keywords and trying to figure out how people are finding me. They aren't finding my home page but they are searching for a specific activity and one of my pages comes up close to the top in google. (which is a good thing!)
I going to continue working on cleaning up my old posts, figuring out my categories and tags. I am also going to upgrade my theme from a free one to one with support. I've been wasting way too much time trying to figure out the small changes.
I'm going to create a facebook page and get rid of my group that is going to be archived anyway.
I asked the creator of my theme for a discount code for the premium version.

I am still updating posts and creating a couple new ones. I am working on one with a list of all the Halloween parties and haunted places around here. I need to find some pictures for it.
I heard from the wordpress theme guys, they said they said "we'll see if we can work something out for you. I'll get back to you soon, okay?" This was very early yesterday morning and I haven't heard back yet. Meanwhile, I have been shopping around and may have found another theme that will do. So now to decide how long I wait on them. I had already clicked the "buy" button but saw the coupon code box, I checked Twitter and saw they had given codes out in the past. They might lose a sale on this one.

I haven't been keeping this up very well. I didn't have a supper productive week but I did install my premium theme from Colorlabs and I continued to clean up my new posts. Then I got a brilliant idea to build up a little more traffic. I installed a plugin and my site is completely broken. I have deactivated the plugin and reinstalled my theme but the error is still there. I'll have to dig around to figure this out. Too bad I'm really busy with my kids' birthday party today!!

I figured out why my blog was broken. I installed a plugin that didn't agree with my theme. I had to actually uninstall the plugin, deactivating it didn't fix it.
Tomorrow I'm going to work on writing some new posts.

I think I get distracted by "shiny things!" I have come up with a relaunch plan. I'm so excited about it! I'm relaunching Nov 12 with a 6 week countdown to Christmas (our Santa Claus parade is Nov 12). I am going to create a banner ad with a little torn gift wrap and a teaser to put in the ad space at the top of my blog. I figured out the color scheme I want to change the whole thing to as well. I have planned out topics for every day from Nov 12 to Dec 24 (I still have to write them though!)

Ugh! I am so overwhelmed! I have a hug problem with getting distracted by my email and by Facebook. And then there are my kids! I'm always thinking there is something else I need to do first (like housework) and I get nothing done. I am on employment benefits right now, so my spouse wants me to look for a job because my benefits run out soon. My website is a mess! I want to change all the colors and pretty it up before I start my relaunch, I want to start my relaunch timed with the Santa Claus parade which is less than 2 weeks away! The one good thing is I have most of my posts planned for the 6 weeks after that, I just have to write them. I was thinking I need to find a partner, but how do you explain to a partner that there is money in this eventually. OK, back to doing something.
